Gippsland concreter
Driveways & Crossovers in Sale & Gippsland

How it works
From quote to handover.
Site visit and quote
Nick comes to the site, measures up and checks the fall. You get a written quote with line items, not a square-metre guess over the phone.
Base preparation
We excavate, compact the sub-base and form up the edges to the correct fall. Getting the prep right is what makes the slab last.
Steel and boxing
Reinforcement is set out to spec. Edge forms are checked for level and fall before a single truck is ordered.
Pour and finish
Concrete is placed, screeded and finished to the specified texture. We clean up and leave the site tidy.
Cure and handover
We advise on curing and keep vehicles off until the slab has reached strength. Then it’s yours.
Where we work
Gippsland-wide, Sale-based.
Common questions
Answered straight.
- How thick should a concrete driveway be?
- For a standard residential driveway we pour at 100mm. Driveways that will take heavier vehicles or have softer sub-soil often go to 125mm. Nick will assess the sub-base and traffic on the site visit.
- Do you handle the council crossover permit?
- Yes. Wellington Shire (Sale and surrounds), Latrobe City (Traralgon, Morwell, Moe) and East Gippsland Shire (Bairnsdale, Paynesville, Lakes Entrance) all have documented crossover specifications. We pour the crossover to spec and prepare the work for inspection. Most homeowners lodge the permit themselves; we coordinate the technical detail and timing with the council.
- How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?
- Concrete reaches enough strength for foot traffic in about 24 hours. For vehicle traffic we recommend a minimum of 7 days, and ideally 28 days for full strength. We will tell you exactly when it is ready on handover.
- Can I choose a finish other than plain broom?
- Yes. Broom finish is standard for driveways because it gives grip in the wet. Exposed aggregate and steel float are also available. Spray pave is an option if you are resurfacing an existing slab. We will talk through the options on the quote visit.
- What areas do you cover for driveway work?
- We are Sale-based and take driveway jobs throughout Gippsland, including Traralgon, Paynesville, Bairnsdale, Maffra and surrounding towns.
